Mercury 6 Year Warranty
Every new Mercury outboard sold for recreational use comes with a 3 year factory warranty plus a 3 year bonus warranty. Keep the engine serviced on schedule and you get 6 years of full cover.
How the 3+3 warranty works
- Cover is the same on the last day as it is on the first. It does not decline with the age of the engine or the hours on it.
- The warranty transfers to the new owner if you sell. That adds real resale value.
- Maintenance and normal wear are not covered.
Staying eligible
Three rules. Service on schedule. Use an authorised Mercury dealer. Use genuine Mercury parts and lubes. Every service gets recorded in Mercury's Engine Service History Log. We are authorised Mercury agents, so servicing with us at Marsden Cove keeps your warranty valid.
The service schedule

| Year 1 service | 1 year or 100 hours |
| Year 2 service | 2 years or 200 hours |
| Year 3 service | 3 years or 300 hours |
| Year 4 service | 4 years or 400 hours |
| Year 5 service | 5 years or 500 hours |
| Year 6 service | 6 years or 600 hours |
If you do more than 100 hours a year, service at each 100 hours. The bonus warranty stays valid as long as the engine is serviced at least once a year or every 100 hours.
Commercial use
The bonus warranty applies to pleasure use only. It does not apply to race products or R models, and engines used in commercial or government work run on Mercury's commercial warranty instead. SeaPro models are built and warranted for that work. Talk to us about the right cover before you buy.
